How it works
The speakers are placed above your head in the bridge of your headset. The placement of the speakers in the bridge enables three things to occur.
1. Each speaker is placed in a precise position to create the correct timing and volume difference to each ear. 2. WaveGuides (air tubes) connect each speaker to BOTH ears to deliver the correct timing and volume difference. 3. The WaveGuides direct the front sound across the front of the ear, and the rear sounds across the rear of the ear.
The combination of these three factors recreates, in miniature, the same things that happen with a room speaker system. There is no signal processing involved so there is no latency introduced, and because we simply recreate the natural conditions of a room in miniature the headphones will work for anyone, to the limits of their audio acuity.

PCWizKid liked the styling of the Psyko 5.1 gaming headphones. The first impression when we saw the gray and red highlights its smooth, rubberized plastic coating felt comfortable to wear and handle. The earcups have excellent cushioned pads and are positioned in various areas specifically to provide true surround 5.1 sound. The surround sound quality is authentic, realistic and accurate. The quick response and latency are really fast making the sound from all directions come to your ears sooner which will appeal to those hard core gamers that specialize in 1st person shooters. Priced at $299 USD, the Psyko 5.1 is not a casual gaming headset, its for serious hard core gamers looking for that extreme piece of equipment to compliment the overall gaming experience. A few things to note, the Psyko 5.1 is for gaming and not the best for listening to music or watching movies. Also these are not noise isolating in anyway either, so focusing on gaming and accurate directional sound is where it shines over other headphones which lack those capabilites.
