NZXT Hades - Mid Tower Case Review Print E-mail

NZXT Hades ReviewNZXT brings us their latest mid tower gaming rig case for the enthusiast at heart.  The NZXT Hades.  This aggressive styling and looks are just the beginning.  Black inside and out this is a steel mid tower gaming chassis which NZXT has focused on the cooling factor with support up to 5 internal fans of which 4 are included. Another main highlight from this case is the LED temperature readings on the front panel door. NZXT has kicked it up a notch with this hades to cool off the interior components and monitor them with thermometer sensors.   These can be used to get readings from three different points from your system.  PCWizKid's Tech Talk takes a deep dive into the bowls of this beast in our video review more in detail.

As usual PCWizKid recommends that when choosing your gaming rig case the important aspects and features to look for are:

  • Drive Bay Space (Expandability options)
  • Motherboard Support
  • Expansion cards support (For example large video cards)
  • Dust Filters on the intake fans
  • Airflow and cooling options (water cooling and radiator holes)
  • Cable management support
  • Styling and looks inside and out
The Hades is categorized as part of the NZXT "Crafted Series" which also includes the Tempest EVO we reviewed earlier as well.

Conclusion

As seen in PCWizKid's video review NZXT has taken given the Hades all the cooling options a hardcore gamer or PC enthusiast would need.  Overclockers and those keen of getting the latest hardware such as a large video card can rest assured they will fit.  The addition of the fan controller is a nice touch along with the digital readouts for the temperature on the front.  The only thing we found different was the hard drive installation which we liked in the Tempest EVO model for example.  Other than that the looks and the style are great, the included fans are terrific and the expansion capabilities for adding drives is awesome for a mid tower.  The CPU cooler replacement hole on the motherboard try is very large making it easier to access and the cable management aspects mentioned in the review are though out with rubber covers.  For the price point of $99 the NZXT Hades is an attractive alternative PCWizKid recommends.
